It really takes something to just wake up and make screens with such questionable and yet interesting gameplay. This map's entire goal is to be brutal, and in that it succeeds. I like to imagine that now that a human has beaten it, it is post-contest added back in as the true final boss of endgame contest. Room 2 is simply one of the hardest rooms ever beaten in the game, on a similar level of difficulty as 2k3 and r24. This only occurred because the creator of the map made EVERY gap in the room pixel perfect. As a result, there are 8 frame perfects in the room, not to mention the probabilities of 0f'ing several of the 12 pixel perfects in the room that essentially add the equivalent of rolling a d10. It is crazy how many years ahead of the time this map is with its gameplay. It essentially restricts every input and movement madeline makes, all while she jumps between walls of fire without stopping. r1 and r3 are also very brilliant screens, I agree with Seaze that the movement in room 3 in particular is some of the most satisfying gameplay I've ever seen. Speaking of Seaze, I should give thanks to the following: -Rein for being the first person to ever dare to even touch this TAS-only beast of a map, clearing room 1 and being the true inspiration for my clear to have started in the first place. -Seaze for also clearing 1 as well as stratfinding and clearing 3, motivating me to finally actually open the map and grind for the clear. -Reaver of Souls, I really don't know what your thought process was behind building this map, but it is absolutely brilliant, and despite the luck and inconsistency involved in every screen, the sick movement and skill required to clear them has made it one of my favorite maps on hist. I doubt we will see another map as uniquely inventive and difficult as this one in a VERY long time.
