Is Quantum Mechanics Exact- - Anton Kapustin

https://tbae.tubitak.gov.tr/ TÜBİTAK TBAE Mathematical Physics and Applied Mathematics Seminar Series Is Quantum Mechanics Exact? Speaker: Anton Kapustin (California Institute of Technology, USA) ABSTRACT: Ever since quantum theory was formulated by Heisenberg, Born, Jordan, Dirac and Schroedinger, it has remained essentially unchanged despite many attempts to modify, generalize, or extend it. On the other hand, many authors have tried to argue that the mathematical structure of quantum mechanics is uniquely determined by some very general physical requirements and, along with thermodynamics, is a rare example of an exact theory. In this talk I will describe one such argument which goes back to Jordan and Bohr.
